Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a great way to improve one's overall health and vibrancy. The lymphatic system plays such an important role in maintaining your overall health because it is connected to every other system and cell in the body. The lymphatic system is part of your immune and circulatory system and is referred to as the body's "second" circulatory system and is responsible maintaining fluid balance. The lymphatic system filters and removes excess waste from the body. It is approximately twice as vast as the cardiovascular system but does not have a central pump like the heart. Instead, lymph flows in only one direction, towards the heart where it connects to the circulatory system. When the lymphatic system functions properly, individuals feel vibrant, energetic, and clear-headed. However, when the system becomes congested, individuals may experience symptoms such as bloating, lethargy, constipation, headaches, aches and pains, and anxiety.
A congested or malfunctioning lymphatic system can lead to the accumulation of cellular waste and proteins in the tissues which can contribute to illness and disease. Proper lymphatic circulation is crucial for overall health and reduces puffiness and bloating, as well as aids in weigh loss.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage facilitates the elimination of excess fluid and toxins from the body, reducing swelling and edema, while supporting the immune system by enhancing lymphatic circulation and eliminating waste and toxins. Additionally, it accelerates the healing process by reducing inflammation and promoting tissue regeneration.Incorporating manual lymphatic drainage into your post-liposuction care can aid in reducing swelling, discomfort, and the formation of complications, promoting a smoother recovery process.Individuals who have undergone liposuction may experience hardness or lumpiness in the treated areas due to inflammation and trauma caused by the cannula movement during the procedure. Channels created by the cannula can accumulate fluid, leading to tissue swelling. Manual Lymphatic Drainage plays a crucial role in gently redirecting fluid back into the lymph vessels, reducing swelling and discomfort. Without this specialized massage, inflammation may progress to fibrosis or the formation of seromas (pockets of blood). After both elective and non-elective surgeries, incorporating lymphatic drainage and scar tissue work into post-operative care can offer numerous benefits.
Scar Tissue Work aids in the breakdown and softening of scar tissue, enhancing the appearance and texture of scars. It also improves circulation to the scarred area by freeing trapped blood vessels which aids in healing and reducing the risk of complications like permanent adhesions. Freeing the trapped nerves also alleviates pain and discomfort associated with scar tissue formation. Reducing scar tissue enhances mobility and functionality.
For liposuction on a single area or procedure, it is recommended to undergo 6 sessions. During the initial two weeks, the focus is on the lymphatic system and scar tissue, aiming to reduce inflammation and minimize the risk of long-term scar tissue and "lypo lumpies". We will mobilize tissues and address existing scar tissue.
From day 15- 6 weeks plus, we will dive deeper into scar tissue treatment to reduce long-term scarring and achieve optimal results.
For multiple surgical procedures, areas, and facelifts, 12 post-operative sessions are recommended.
Deep Tissue Massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing chronic aches and pains. This can help to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
Rehabilitative Orthopedic Massage is specifically designed to treat pain and tension associated with musculoskeletal injuries. This can include conditions such as sprains, strains, fractures, or post-surgical rehabilitation.
The therapist uses a variety of techniques, including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release, to target the affected area and surrounding tissues. The goal is to reduce pain, improve mobility, promote healing, and prevent further injury. Orthopedic massage can significantly aid in recovery.
TMJD or TMJ Massage is a specialized type of therapy that focuses on relieving tension in the temporomandibular joints (TMJ), which connect the jawbone to the skull. These joints can often become painful or tight due to stress, teeth grinding, poor posture, or other factors.
During a TMJD massage, a therapist uses gentle, targeted techniques to relax the muscles around the jaw, neck, and face. This can include both external massage of the face and neck area, and intraoral massage, where the therapist wears gloves and applies gentle pressure inside the mouth to release tension in the internal muscles of the jaw.
The goal of TMJD massage is to alleviate pain, reduce tension, improve jaw mobility, and help restore normal function to the jaw. It can be particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from TMJD disorders, jaw pain, headaches, or other related issues.
Swedish Massage is a classic type of Massage Therapy that is known for it’s relaxation and stress-relieving benefits. The primary goals of a Swedish Massage are to increase the oxygen flow in the blood, detoxify the muscles, enhance circulation, ease stress/ tension, and improve flexibility. After a Swedish massage, clients typically feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and refreshed.
